Introduction to Mediation Skills and Theory - Fall 2024
This course will introduce students to the concepts and skills necessary to apply an interest-based and facilitative mediation process to disputes in a variety of areas such as child protection mediation, family law mediation, and civil mediation. Students will be encouraged to consider the mediation process from a variety of lenses and to challenge and reflect on their belief system, values, and personal experiences with the topics presented. This course is essential for those wanting to pursue a career in mediation and for those who want to develop their conflict resolution skills in other roles such as leadership or human resources.
